​I've been working with Colette for nearly a year now. I came to her as a generally lean lifelong athlete who was just finishing up recovering from surgery, and looking to jump-start getting back into shape and shedding a little of the fat that comes from being sedentary for weeks post-op. I had interest in competing in the NPC, but wasn't entirely sure it was something I could manage to do while still being a performance athlete (I was on a women's competitive rowing team). I'd heard horror stories of girls nearly losing their jobs/husbands/sanity while preparing for a show due to poor nutritional guidance from their coaches, or gained unhealthy amounts of weight post-show as they were given only foods they hated during show prep and then went on to abuse food after their show was over. Upon meeting her, I knew almost instantly that she was a fit for me and my goals. She clearly practiced what she preached (health, fitness, and beauty), as she was very lean, muscular, and looked a solid decade younger than she really was. Her answers to all my questions were confident and informed, and her style was serious but kind. We agreed from our first meeting on a few critical principals:
1. That I wanted to build a body that I could love and sustain year-round, and over the long run. We weren't interested in only looking good for shows, but for looking lean and healthy every day. 
2. That no matter what the judges say, the most important thing was for us to build a body that I loved. Every judge is different, and will look for different things, and appreciate or mark-down different features. When show day is over, you're left with your body, so you may as well love what you built. 
3. That my approach to diet be sustainable. While I'm competitive enough that I'll do anything my coach asks of me if I think it'll increase my chances of winning, eating 1200 calories of fish and asparagus for the rest of my life isn't realistic. So we agreed that identifying foods like I loved and hated up front would help ensure my long term success. 
  • Its been a successful ~11 months of working with Colette, using these mutual values. The results of her approach speak for themselves: 
  • I've lost over 20lbs and have added a lot of muscle definition in my lower body - something I'd struggled to do on my own despite my best efforts. 
  •  I've competed in 3 shows in the Bikini division, and have placed top 5 in each show. I'm going into my 4th show this fall, and have seen my body get better and better each time.
  • I still compete on a racing team as a rower, and now have the option to race in the lightweight division.  
  • I eat my fair share of leafy green veggies and fish, but I get to eat chicken burgers with gouda, and pumpkin spice protein shakes, and yams with cinnamon and walnuts too. I've never had to eat the two foods that I hate: asparagus and avocados. 
I won't ever try to sell what we've done as "easy", but its been the support system that's made it all attainable. I've had days where I've looked in the mirror and thought " Gosh I wish my glutes were bigger, or my hips were smaller" or any other imperfection I could cook up that day. Colette has gotten me through the difficult days with reminders of how far I've come, how much I've achieved, and to just keep trucking along while cutting myself a little slack. 
Thanks for all that you've done for me, Colette! I can't wait to see what we build over the next year.

 I began this adventure when I was at a really low point.  My boyfriend broke up with me.  After two years of ignoring myself, I decided it was time to make a big investment in me.  There were more than a handful of concerns that my friends and family brought up.  "What about the food?"  "You can't drink?"  "Can you afford this?"  "Do you have time?"  My answer- "IF NOT NOW, THEN, WHEN!?"  Was I scared?  Terrified!

​The first week was brutal.  Detoxing my body from sugar was physically draining.  Introducing weight lifting into my routine was also tiring.  The first two weeks, I compare to being a newborn.  Colette cheered me on through every complaint.  She endured my complaints and my terrible attitude.  I ate, slept, and cried.  I wondered constantly if I could do it.  Then, the weight started to come off.  The inches melted away.  My friends started complimenting the definition in my arms and legs.  

After the second month, I looked back at my before pictures.  The transformation in 60 days was astonishing.  My waste was significantly smaller.  Also, my eczema, which excruciating, had disappeared!  Taking out the sugar from my diet healed an ailment that I suffered for my whole life!  

Today, I not only feel fit, I feel strong.  I feel like I can take on any challenge.  I began the process feeling like I had no value.  Three months later, I feel sexy, powerful, and I know that I am the only one who sets my worth.

Colette is amazing. She trained me for my first bikini competition in just 4 months! Colette truly cared about my body and mind going through the prep for my competition. She lent guidance though-out the journey and truly had my best interest in mind. She provided me with a nutrition and work out a plan that fit my lifestyle and dietary retractions. The entire process was well mapped out with check-ins and one-on-one training sessions.  If I did have any questions I felt I could text her at any time about any random question I had and received a quick response.
